If your vessel is Greenlandic and above 24 meters in length overall (l.o.a.), you must be aware that there are special requirements for the crew composition of your vessel.

Following rules regarding vessel crews must be complied with:

• At least 60% of the officers on your vessel must have a register address in Greenland and have had this in the 2 previous calendar years. They must also be fully taxable in Greenland and have been fully taxable in Greenland in the 2 previous calendar years.
• 100% of other crew members must have a register address in Greenland and have had this in the 2 previous calendar years. They must also be fully taxable in Greenland and have been fully taxable in Greenland in the 2 previous calendar years.

Before starting the trip, send the list of crew members to GFLK. In the list, you must provide name, job title, CPR number, municipality of residence and documentation for education.

GFLK checks whether the crew members have had a register address in Greenland for the 2 previous calendar years, and that they have been fully taxable in Greenland for the 2 previous calendar years.

Upon application, a dispensation from the rules can be granted if a crew member has been away from Greenland for the past 2 years due to training.
